About Sosua Beach

Sosua is a small town on the north coast of the Dominican Republic, in the province of Puerto Plata. It is best known for its sheltered cove and calm, clear Caribbean waters. The town has a colourful history shaped by waves of settlers, and today it is a relaxed mix of local life and international tourism.

The beach itself sits in a protected bay, which keeps the water gentle and great for swimming and snorkeling. A row of small casitas lines the back of the beach, offering food, drinks, crafts and services to visitors throughout the day.
